Gucci launches a retro windbreaker for Fall/Winter 2019, with design elements nodding to the 1980s. The piece itself is functional and retails for a whopping $2,600 USD.
The light outerwear is designed by Alessandro Michele. The upper mixes red, grey, and a symbol-heavy pattern that is surely what draws consumer attention to the retro windbreaker. Through the aesthetic of the pattern, Gucci is able to evoke a number of print symbols that are boldly tied to its fashion identity. It is essentially “an interlocking pattern of red ‘GG’ belts, love hearts, stars, and knots.” This will surely capture the eye of dedicated fans of the high-fashion brand.
The retro windbreaker is complete with delicate piping that divides the silhouette into bold color and print sections.
